About Dr. Kevin O’Grady BASc, MHSc, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Kevin O’Grady is a fully certified Plastic Surgeon by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a Staff Plastic Surgeon in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Born and raised in a small Northern Ontario community, Dr. O’Grady doesn’t practice with the usual hustle and bustle of the big city. When you come to see Dr. O’Grady, you can expect to see him every time for your appointment. Although the office can sometimes be a busy place, Dr. O’Grady strives to spend as much time with patients as possible and ensures that all of your questions are answered before you leave. He completed his five years of Plastic Surgery training at McMaster University, followed by a year of Fellowship training in Craniofacial Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Breast Reconstruction and Aesthetic Breast Surgery at Women’s College Hospital, both University of Toronto Teaching Hospitals. Prior to medical school at the University of Toronto, Dr. O’Grady earned a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Dr. O’Grady’s practice is a mixture of both Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. O’Grady feels that this balance is an effective method for transferring knowledge and skills between two distinct disciplines within Plastic Surgery. Aesthetic patients benefit from lessons learned from reconstructive procedures in the same way that advances in cosmetic procedures lead to better reconstructive results.

Dr. O’Grady is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Societies of Plastic Surgeons as well as an Active Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He also belongs to the Canadian and Ontario Medical Associations. He has been invited to speak as a guest expert by Medicis Canada, the makers of Restylane, regarding facial anatomy and safety of cosmetic injectable fillers.

Board certified and fellowship trained, Dr. O’Grady performs minor procedures as well as numerous body contouring procedures such as smart liposuction and liposonic fat reduction safely in his office. Dr. O’Grady also maintains hospital privileges at all three York Region hospitals where larger procedures are performed under general anesthetic. He keeps up-to-date on the latest procedures and techniques although his overall approach to patient care tends to be conservative. Dr. O’Grady believes in researching new techniques to ensure they are viable and safe rather than rushing to be the first to offer a new procedure. DR. O’GRADY IS A CERTIFIED AND FELLOWSHIP TRAINED PLASTIC SURGEON

Dr. O’Grady underwent a five year qualified Plastic Surgery residency at McMaster University, which entitled him to the classification of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in Plastic Surgery.

After his residency training, he undertook a Fellowship in Breast Reconstruction and Cosmetic Breast Surgery at Women’s College Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in Canada for Breast Reconstruction and Breast Surgery. He also obtained a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Canada’s busiest trauma centre. Craniofacial Surgery is a subspecialty of Plastic Surgery that deals with congenital (birth) and acquired deformities of the skull, face and jaws. It deals with the manipulation of bone, skin, muscle and teeth to improve the form and function of the face.
