SKIN CARE

Enhancing your appearance with skin rejuvenation! If you want to improve the appearance of your skin, skin rejuvenation or resurfacing may be right for you.

Skin rejuvenation can be achieved in a number of ways, ranging from laser treatments, light and other energy-based treatments to chemical peels and other non-ablative methods. The result is a smoother, clearer and more youthful appearance to your skin.

Skin rejuvenation can take several forms. It may involve a treatment to resurface your skin, or to improve the texture, clarity and overall appearance of your skin. Conditions that can be treated include:

  • Static wrinkles: These wrinkles are visible at all times and do not change in appearance with facial movements
  • Dynamic wrinkles: These are expression lines that may appear as folds when the skin is not moving, and deepen with facial movements or expressions.
  • Pigmentation: Freckles, sun spots, melasma, or other darkened patches of skin result mainly from sun exposure.
  • Scars: As the result of acne or injury to the skin, scars may be rolling (a wavy appearance to the skin), pitted, discoloured, or have raised borders.
  • Vascular conditions: Blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin, vascular lesions that appear as tiny blood filled blisters or even a constant flush of facial redness.
  • Loss of skin tone: Weakening of the supportive skin structure (collagen and elastin fibres) that results in a loss of skin firmness, or the development of cellulite.

We are pleased to offer the following;

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is used to improve and smooth the texture of skin. This is achieved by using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Modern chemical peels are both safe and effective to restore the healthy glow to your face.

Medical Skin Care

Navigating the world of beauty creams and tonics is an increasingly confusing task. We have carefully selected what we feel are the best products from several different leading skin care lines and will tailor these products to your individual skin care needs. We also offer microdermabrasion treatments to help exfoliate and rejuvenation your skin. Please feel free to contact our office and arrange a consultation with Kim to see how we can help you.

RESTYLANE AND JUVEDERM

Restylane
Restylane Toronto and Vaughan

The most common hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers available in Canada are Restylane and Juvéderm. They are naturally-based injectable treatments that can actually restore the youthful volume to your face. Think of it as a liquid facelift!

The secret of fillers is hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that attracts and binds water molecules to help maintain volume. Fillers are designed to act like you body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Hylaluronic acid is a molecule that offers support and structure to our tissues throughout the body, including our skin. HA protects our bodies from damage by keeping it hydrated and firm through its ability to attract and bind water molecules.

As we age, the natural production of HA changes and our skin becomes thinner, dehydrated and less firm. It thus loses its natural glow and radiance and makes us look older. HA is a clear gel that, injected under the skin, makes skin look full and firm and more youthful.

Unlike collagen-based treatments, HA treatments can be carried out immediately, with no need to wait for allergy testing.

The following areas can be treated with HA fillers:

  • Forehead - Ease horizontal wrinkles and wrinkles across your forehead, as well as the vertical lines between your eyebrows.
  • Eyes - Smooth away the fine, superficial lines in your eye area. Give yourself an eyebrow lift or fill hollows under your eyes - creating a less tired, more youthful appearance. Treatment of this area yields fantastic results.
  • Cheeks -Create a rounder, more sensuous facial contour or reduce hollowness in your cheeks.
  • Mouth and Lips - Minimize the vertical smile lines between your nose and mouth and add plumpness to your lips.
  • Chin and Jaw - Create a slightly fuller shape for your chin. Fillers can firm and define your jawline.

The HA fillers that Dr. O’Grady uses are Health Canada approved. These fillers have been used in over 60 million treatments worldwide to date. One session takes approximately 15-30 minutes, the results can be seen instantly, and the effects generally last for a minimum of 6 months, but often last for up to 9 – 12 months.

Dr. O’Grady is an Expert Injector. His skills as a Plastic Surgeon lend themselves to achieving your optimal results. He has been invited by Galderma, the makers of Restylane, to speak as an expert on Facial Anatomy to other doctors and nurses, so you can be assured of the maximum safety and best results possible.
